Adventure in Tuscany, ItalyJune 29 - July 6, 2008The JourneyTuscany is a place of old world magic. This Adventure takes you into the heart of the countryside to an organic farm, la Cerreta (www.cerreta.it ), where they live life in harmony with the land. The Adventure centers on rejuvenation, discovery, and growth. You will rejuvenate through daily yoga practice, soaking in thermal hot springs, and finding tranquility in forest walks. You'll discover the local Maremanna culture and way of life with horseback riding, a cooking class, and visiting the medieval town of Sassetta. You will grow as you get your hands dirty in the soil learning about organic farming. We'll spend the week deepening our connection with our bodies, our minds, each other, and the land.
Of course, being Italy, a large focus of our time will be food. There will be three multi-course, long, lazing, relaxing, contemplative, vibrant meals every day. We'll experience the wonderful people at la Cerreta as we hone a greater awareness of the choices we make in our daily lives.
The Place La Cerreta sits nestled 15km from the Mediterranean in the Pian delle Vigne wine region of Italy tucked away in the forested hills. Vilma and Daniele, the proprietors, cultivate a way of life that lives in harmony with the land. Everything grown on the farm is local and organic. And we mean everything: olive grove, vineyard, chestnut trees, honey bees, peppers, pomegranates, wild mushrooms, strawberries, melons, tomatoes, cows, chickens, pigs, horses, and more. Even the dogs are local! All of the food is handmade in the local Maremanna tradition of Italian cooking--homemade cheeses, butter, pastas, jams, honey, olive oil, wine (red and white)--even hazelnut liquor. This is your opportunity to discover the traditions of Italy as few other visitors will ever experience.

This includes all costs upon arrival—seven nights lodging, all organic meals, transportation to and from Florence international airport, all yoga workshops, Thai massage, thermal hot springs, horseback riding, cooking class, wine and cheese tasting, farm tours and activties, and outdoor programs.
